Bristol's First Day of School

So now that Bristol has been going to school now for a few weeks I finally got her pictures loaded onto the computer and finally posted. She has been enjoying school, but also says it is boring. Especially the first week she said they just kept talking about the rules. I guess if she thinks it is boring now it is a good thing we put her in this year. She is enjoying it more and more each day as she gets used to the new routine. She told me yesterday how during music class she got to play the bongo drums which was very exciting. It was nice because Nate was able to be home to see her off to school the first day.

She looks so little in this picture. I tried to convince her to get a smaller backpack that would still fit her folders, but she insisted on the Tinkerbell backpack. It goes halfway down her legs I swear.

Doing his chores...

Tonight before bed Asher had some milk. When he was done I told him he needed to go put his cup in the sink. He trotted into the kitchen (humming a little song as he went), passed the sink, went right over to the dishwasher, opened it, and put his cup inside. He then closed the dishwasher and came back in the living room ready to go downstairs (and still humming). It was so cute so I had to brag.

More Pictures of Baby Gwyn

A friend of mine from church came and took pictures of Gwyn the other day. They turned out really cute and she didn't even charge us. If you want to check them out then click here to check out her blog.

So far Gwyn is a great little baby and very patient with her sisters always loving on her and poking her. We couldn't be more blessed to have her in our family.

I apologize in advance to Asher's future wife.

Can't see it yet?
A little closer...
You may need to click the image in order to see the extent, but seriously this poor kid has the hairiest back! I'm sure he'll love that I posted these pictures when he's older.
I guess that's what happens when you have italian and mexican blood. Sorry kid.

Awesome!

I went outside to give the chickens water and food and as soon as I stepped into the house I noticed little piles of cut hair on the floor. I figured that the culprit would be found out soon enough. Blake managed to cut his hair almost to the scalp, but with some bangs just below it. He looked in the mirror and exclaimed, "Awesome! My hair looks awesome." We agreed that maybe I should give the rest of his hair a little touch up. I'm so glad he is not a little girl because now I can just buzz his head and let it grow out...yet again.

What's in a name?

Dylan: "I can't believe that every word has a meaning. My name means "of the sea."

Me: "Yes. I don't remember what Blake or Collin's names mean."

Dylan: "Collin's name probably means 'hard headed."

Chicken- not so- Little

The proud papas of the chickens. Not cute like Gwyn, but the boys love 'em all the same. They grow quickly.

How we use mittens in California

Blake complained that his feet were cold, so he solved the problem himself. I don' t think he remembers ever going to the snow, if we ever have, since he has been in our family. So what else would he use mittens for?

Online Recipes

Hey fam,

Just wanted ya'll to know I started a blog to post recipes. I figure it might be an easy way for Lisa to get some of our recipes for the cookbook. It's sort of an online version of the recipe club. If anyone wants to join so they can share recipes let me know. I won't bug you by sending you an invite unless you want to be invited. Just send me an email or post a comment with the email address you want me use to invite you. That goes for extended family and/or friends who may check this blog who would want to be part of the recipe blog.

Ok the link for it is www.gianatasiofamilyrecipes.blogspot.com and I also added it to the side bar of this blog for easy access.

Also FYI I created a photo blog for some of my pictures if you care to see them. It's called Point of View and it's at www.pointofviewphotos.blogspot.com

Lastly I thought this blog could use an update and thus you have it's new appearance.

Later!

I'm not trying to brag, but I have a cute kid. I know all those who check this blog will agree. :) Anyway just wanted to let you all know that it didn't rain today!!! We went to the park and Asher loves the swings (except for when he pushes the empty swings and they fly back and hit him in the face- whoops).

Umm...Who did this?

So the other night I opened the refrigerator to find this carton of whipping cream with a straw in it. My first thought was, "Who is drinking the whipping cream?" Do you think you know? Let's see if you can figure it out with a few clues.
Clue #1 The shelf is too high for Blake to reach without a chair.
Clue #2 It is someone who drinks milk all of the time.
Clue # 3 This person either can't read the label stating that it is whipping cream, or they are too curious to see what whipping cream takes like prior to the whipping.

Did you need the clues, or are you just going to guess?
Answer: Collin. When I pondered aloud, "oh, who tried drinking this I wonder?"
Collin answered with..."Mom, that milk tastes bad so don't use it." I then explained that was because it was whipping cream and that I would never buy such a small container of milk for all of the family.
Case Closed.

Cub Scouting

Law Enforcement came and gave the boys some instruction and went over obeying laws, etc.
Dylan and his friend, Ryland, trying on some of the gear. I like how my scout has a crazy kerchief thing.
Working on their conservation project where they planted flowers at a local school.
The boys trying to figure out the kite flying thing. There wasn't a lot of wind, but there was a lot of running, so I considered it a success.
If your kite won't fly, keep entertained by gargling water...scouts are so resourceful.

So the scouting adventure continues. Dylan will earn his Wolf patch once he cooks a meal outdoors and helps his place of worship. Woohoo!

Mother's Day Weekend

For Mother's Day we went to Mom and Dad's new house. It was really fun! Asher got to sit on a tractor.

Pet a Llama.

Frolic in the grass (and I saw 2 snakes that are still haunting my dreams.)

He especially enjoyed being carried by his dad when we went to the creek. Can't you tell?
Oh and he also loved the kisses Sheldon gave him. Doesn't that face say "Love you too Dad."
We had a great time and it was so much fun to get away and spend sometime with Mom on Mother's Day. We haven't had a mother's day with her in a long time so we really felt lucky.

Don't these clouds look cool? This picture was taken from Mom and Dad's property.

Here are a couple of random pictures of Asher stealing my corn. The little stinker.

It's All about the Benjamins

Today Asher saw a picture of a $100 bill and pointed at Ben Franklin and said "Daddy." I'm STILL laughing.

For Nicole

She remarked that she liked this picture of Asher on our blog and I assured her we had many more lovely ones we could share. He is starting to get to the stage where he will ham it up for the camera. Oh we love our boy.
