Mover and a Shaker

We've gotten so many toys for free from generous friends and family members that we really haven't had to buy too many. One thing we did buy was this table. It was totally worth it! Asher LOVES it. In fact it seems that every kid that comes over loves it. (I'm not trying to advertise, I just love finding good toys.) Here he is with his cousin Reagan. They are getting so cute together. They play together and even wrestle each other (which eventually turns into hair pulling and biting eachother in the abdomen, but it's all out of love, right?). We are going to miss Reagan (and the rest of her family) in the coming year.

Asher has started "dancing" or what we think is his version of dancing. He moves his head Stevie Wonder style. I got a little bit of it on tape at the very beginning of this video. I must admit when he first started doing it I thought something was wrong with him, but now we know he's just having fun. Click here for the extended version.

I have had a bad cold this week so I've been sleeping on the couch in an effort to not infect our entire family. So far so good. That's why the couch cushions are on the ground. Asher will pretty much climb and crawl his way over ANYTHING these days. He climbs up the stairs and tries to climb up the entertainment center. He is pretty fearless and tries to do things that he isn't quite ready for. He can stand on his own for about two seconds before losing his balance. But that doesn't stop him from letting go of stuff and trying to walk over to something he wants. We have to keep a close eye on him. I'm trying not to be over protective but don't want him to get hurt. He has still managed to get a couple bruises on his forehead and yesterday got a fat lip. This boy is such a rascal and ALWAYS on the move. Our pediatrician told us at his 9 month check up that we have our work cut out for us. We plan on enrolling him in soccer as soon as he is old enough. :)

Speaking of his nine month check up he is now 30 inches long (95% for length) and just over 19 pounds (50% for weight). He is growing up fast.

That is always a good sign for a medical professional to tell you you've got your work cut after you. Haha! I miss you all!!

I love that when kids climb they use their head like it is an extra arm, or something. So cute that he says a "hi" to you at the end of the video. I speak baby jibberish, so yes, that was definitely a beginning "hi" sound. :)
